How I help

Go From Boss to Coach

You get the best effort from others not by lighting fire beneath them, but by building a fire within them

Your job is only as good as your boss.  76% of the factors that lead to someone being engaged in their work is influenced by what their manager does.  This relationship is key, as strong managers lead to engaged staff that lead to happy customers.

How to do this?  Turn bosses into coaches. The challenge is no one has shown us how. The Boss to Coach program is designed to help.

WHAT MY CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY

“The delivery of the content was dynamic and well presented. The times spent on each topic was enough to understand the concepts.  Interactions were very helpful and the short time allowed for each task made us feel the pressure to deliver it (very helpful to replicate real life scenarios).  Jason was very attentive and professional while coaching and presenting the course and managing time and agenda.”

The 5 coaching conversations a boss should have with their team

We don’t check in and guide our people enough.  There are simple yet effective conversations and tools that can support a team’s move from performance management to performance development. Conversations designed to be frequent, focused, future-oriented, strengths-based.

  • Setting Expectations Values, Motivations, Purpose, Priorities Once a year. If new after 3 months

  • Everyday Feedback Management by Walking Around Daily

  • Check In Individual and team review, planning and prioritisation Once or twice per month

  • Development Plan 1 Per Year Set-Up, then Ongoing in Check In and Progress Review

  • Progress Review Every 6 Months

  • Benefit from the experience and wisdom of all the bosses I work with

  • Supported by easy to complete templates and guides

Each Coach, Workshop, or Online Learning Has

IN PERSON DEBRIEF

  • 1-1 coach, facilitated workshop, online learning, or a conversation tool to support a one to one debrief

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

  • It’s not a role play. I prefer “real life” practice is applied. The conversation means the work is already done

A TOOL BOX

  • Easy to follow discussion and reference guides designed to be used straight away for the everyday, all accessed through a client portal

A FOLLOW-UP PROGRAMME

  • If not applied, within 72 hours we lose 90% of everything we learn.  Check-in prompts after 1-day, 1-week, 1-month, 1-year

“I really enjoyed my time with Jason, he was very knowledgeable and humble in his approach, he had the answers but also seemed open to learning and feedback. I would recommend this course and Jason to anyone, well worth the investment.”

WHAT MY CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY

“Setting expectations created an authentic conversation. Love the check in template, it’s a standout”

“I’m getting a lot out of the feedback questions working, stuck, differently. Using with customers is a really great conversation structure for feedback”
